How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

The main film is supposedly put together by an enthusiast that came across the footage shown, and therefore, the poster and radio ad follow the same narrative. The ancillary products focus on the idea of finally having the truth about the killer, and that is where the promotion comes from, as they want other people to know the truth.

Aesthetically, there is an extreme similarity in how the killer is lit in the poster and how everyone is lit in the film. This is because the poster is supposed to be from the film itself as it is the first time the killer has been recorded or photographed. Whilst the poster is a picture taken seperately to the film, it is in exactly the same setting as the film and looks like it was taken from the film directly.

These products are designed to be distributed through digital online means. The film is designed for dedicated websites and channels discussed in this post:

The poster is designed to be shared via social media sites as it is the most common way short films are publicised with the use of posters. Any other means such as bus adverts or advertising in cinemas are not appropriate for films that are not distributed in the cinema. Also, the story behind the creation of the products becomes more unbelieveable if there is suddenly a large budget for distribution.
