This film challenges a few conventions of film noir, this is mainly due to using tools that weren't available at the time the genre was established. I have explained the choices for challenging conventions in the voicethread below.

 

 

 

 

 

Our opening title sequence (as described) is rather unconventional in terms of form. With typical noir, most roles and crew are shown at the opening credits (which would last more than two minutes).

 

 

 

 

 

This film follows a lot of conventions, we used quite typical settings, iconography etc. This is because we wanted to create an authentic looking piece. This presentation describes all the conscious decisions we took to follow Film noir conventions.
