The age group I have aimed my final production at is between 15 and 30 years old. This is not only because I fall specifically into that target group, but also because I believe these people prefer this type of film. This could be challenged because the film is a homage to films from the 40's and 50's so people alive during that period may also enjoy this film. Another reason for this is that the film would be streamed We have aimed this film at a mainly male audience as it it is a Film Noir, which are typically violent and sexualised. This is not a mainstream release so it would not be for people with little disposable income.  Therefore, this film would be for people who enjoy watching films and do so often enough to have paid for streaming services.  As I fall into this category, this means that I was able to create a film that I would be happy to watch. This helped me extremely in my efforts to meet the needs of the target audience.

Who would be the audience for your media product?

I have done research into this subject regarding our film. I studied Pete Buckingham's classification method. Pete Buckingham classifies certain audiences according to how they watch films as well as their social class and level of disposable income. According to him, we would be aiming at the ABC1 audiences (higher class professions) as they are more likely to watch films. Whilst he raises valid points about cinema trends, we are unable to apply much of his findings as they are based on cinema goers and not those who would stream films. The closest our target audience get to Pete Buckingham's classification groups are Impulsive materialists (as they rely on word of mouth). Hero seekers is another example that comes close as our film has a redemptive message they would get on well with.
